Late into 2025 at 1:55am I am finally getting back to writing on this platform. In my truest of forms, I have just completed a self destructive phase. Not in the literal sense but, in the sense that I spent the day doing a bunch of business related administrative work. Which I’ll spare you those details. It also included wiping my Substack down into a fresh slate. Let’s knock this one out in a very straight forward manner.

 

I am back to running a business. Photography and video primarily for metal and hardcore bands. In short: life absolutely rules.

Currently I am attending as many local shows as my schedule allows to shoot photos or videos for any band that is interested. In the last month I’ve pumped out digital media for somewhere around…

Roughly 30 bands. A few hundred photos edited and 10 or so videos. Forgive me for not having exact numbers. It’s after 2am at this point. This is not the only work I have done. I am guilty of being quite the generalist since opening my business back up. Local business commercials, tattoo shops, audio work, consulting, and the list goes

on.

 

I have realized within the last few weeks that this will not shake out the way I want it to. So… niche niche niche. In my attempts to be a jack of all trades the universe has acted exactly as it does. The best results and opportunities have all come from the world of metal and hardcore music. Who would of thought? I only spent damn near all of my formative years going to concerts/shows of this nature. Of course this is where I am happiest and doing my best work. Note to self (and whoever is reading this)… Pay attention when you keep finding yourself in certain venues. No pun intended. I am going to wrap this up because I keep losing my train of thought. No doubt from being tired.
